According to the U.S. Department of Justice, more than 2,200 children may be reported missing every day in the U.S. Since 1984, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) has helped recover more than 169,000 such children.
To encourage roofing professionals to become involved locally with the search for missing children and demonstrate their commitment to their communities, the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) partnered with NCMEC in 2001 to create Project Recovery, which helps locate missing children through magnetic posters that can be placed on service vehicles. Gulf Western Roofing is a proud supporter of Project Recovery. Several of our work trucks, visible throughout the state of Florida, have the magnetic posters to help locate missing children. The posters, which NRCA designs, include a photograph of a child at the time he or she was reported missing, biographical information and contact information in the event the child is seen. Many posters also include age-processed photographs to help people recognize a child as he or she may currently look. If a child is found, NRCA will send a “FOUND” sticker to place over the poster to let the community know the program has been successful. (Source: NRCA website)
